Giza Pyramids, Sphinx & Grand Egyptian Museum

Today's sightseeing begins on the Giza Plateau, home to Egypt's most iconic archaeological landmarks.

Rising from the edge of the Sahara Desert, the Great Pyramids of Giza have stood for more than four millennia and remain the only surviving Wonder of the Ancient World. Your guide will introduce the history of the royal necropolis while you explore the exterior areas of the site and take in sweeping views across the plateau. Beyond their immense size, the pyramids continue to fascinate historians and engineers, as many aspects of their construction remain the subject of ongoing research today.

A short distance away, you'll make your way to the Sphinx viewing area for close exterior views of the famous monument. Carved from a single limestone outcrop, the Sphinx has guarded the plateau for thousands of years and remains one of Egypt's most recognizable symbols.

Following the morning's exploration, you'll stop at a carefully selected local restaurant for lunch before continuing to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).

The afternoon is devoted to GEM, one of the largest archaeological museums in the world. The museum brings together thousands of artifacts spanning different periods of Egyptian history and provides visitors with a deeper understanding of the civilization that flourished along the Nile for thousands of years.

At the end of the visit, you'll travel back to your hotel in a private air-conditioned vehicle and enjoy the remainder of the evening at leisure.
